What kind of Masters Degree Would I Need to Be a Kindergarten Teacher?

I am a recent college graduate who majored in English. Now that I am through with school, I am realizing that I really want to work with kids. I want to become a Kindergarten teacher, but I don’t know where to begin. What kind of Masters Degree do I need? Is this even possible for me to do, or do I have the wrong Bachelor’s degree? In short, how can I become a Kindergarten teacher?

I believe you just need to get certified! I have a couple friends who have degrees and went back and became certified to teach. Takes about a year to 18mths I believe. Just google how to become a certified teacher or read about it in the webisite I listed! Hope this helps!

MEd (or MAT), specifically majoring in Elementary Education (K-6)… or Early Childhood (preK-3)

Around here, you need a degree and a license in Early Childhood Education to teach Kindergarten. You don’t need a Master’s at all, but you can do that instead of getting another BA.
