when you are doing the research portion of psychology math is heavily involved…especially statistics. you have to gather data from different groups(populations) and from those populations get a sample and gain information from that particular sample to make inferences about the whole population…so psychology does involve some math

  2. anzwertree says:

That’s what I’m saying! Does he ever start talking about the subject? Well… it is a first class. The first day of school is always protocol.

  3. CutiePie510 says:

I def think this helped me to realize, i wanna do this!! forsure

  4. BustaMonkey1234 says:

well yeh, thast why i wana do it, its fun, interesting, u help people, and doesint involve math. i cant do math for shit

  5. Flaminheartx3 says:

Actually, psychology is very fun and interesting to learn about but the hard thing about it is that you have to memorize some bull craps like names of the famous psychologists, all kinda theories, and vocabularies -.-”

  6. Omega3chimp says:

    Your gay.

  7. Omega3chimp says:

can you cut the fucking chase.

  8. BustaMonkey1234 says:

same here, i suck at algebra

  9. Joeyal123 says:

if you not good at math is this cource hard because im a idiot when it comes to anything above basic math

  10. Erika445566 says:

Look up Monism and Dualism to start. Start memorizing important psychologists throughout history and what they believed.

  11. lazaroszet says:

    our professor ROCKS

  12. kevinneslund says:

Next to nothing in terms of real math. My ex is a psychologist and she didn’t have anything above college algebra while she was an undergrad. Remember, it’s psychology. It’s where the people who can’t do math and science gravitate.

  13. Awesomedude5721 says:

    Psychology is freakin’ SWEEEETT!! :)

  14. johndavidbustard1 says:

At 47:00, no mention of computer science. If the brain is an electrochemical system, is computing not the most relevant associated theoretical field. The lack of valuing systems theory is what makes Rutherfords comment so ridiculous not the distinction between acquiring an explanation versus fact gathering.

  15. BustaMonkey1234 says:

im in highschool. freshmen, really interested in pychology, any one got any advice to learn and understand this a lil more?

  16. Foxtrot357 says:

Just skip to 31:30 to pass up all the school stuff.

  17. ThirdEyeLight says:

MsFannyAdams, why is Arthritis not capitalized in almost every medical text that I have seen?

  18. giantstingray says:

If I hear the word syllabus one more time…

  19. DeathTheGrim says:

and you watched it , lol

  20. screamolives says:

God… fucking 40 minutes of blabbing

  21. MsFannyAdams says:

If you listen carefully here the Professor does state that what a person has experienced, felt, gained opinion on, all factor into their mental STATE and coping ability of their life. Not an illness. You simply cannot deny that Psychology / Counselling / Psychiatry has helped people – although it too has quacks. Though there are quacks in every profession it’d be simpleton to brand those that do good and help others with their issues as bad as those that let the profession down.

  22. MsFannyAdams says:

With all due respect, you’re wrong again. There is a vast difference between a Psychologist and a Psychiatrist. A Psychologist isn’t allowed to prescribe medication because they have not a medical license to do so. A Psychiatrist on the other hand has gone through near 12 years of medical school (Pre-med, and 4-6 years of internship in various departments). Also of note, Psychology does not brand people has having ‘illness’.

  23. SadChristian says:

Now if I may. I’d like to ask you to piss the fuck off. You don’t have any idea what pain is. I WAS considered mentally ill and had to suffer akathisia attacks for a fucking year. All because the damn psychologist didn’t have a clue what real science is (skepticism and testing your claims). Seriously, piss off! You don’t even know what pain is!

  24. SadChristian says:

lol, go research what psychology calls illnesses. Spelling disorder and mathematics disorder are both serious mental illnesses. So are over 100 others that were “discovered” in just 7 years. Everything is an illness according to psychology. This also happens to guarantee paychecks. But I’m sure that’s a coincidence rather than a dark motive. My “humor” is my outrage as such a sick fucking profession. They shouldn’t be allowed to prescribe such horrendous medication.

  25. MsFannyAdams says:

Even though your attempt at humour is, at best, crap – you have been wrong in your point. It wouldn’t be a spelling disorder if the person forgot to use a ‘?’, it would be a Grammatical Disorder. Also, disorders / illnesses are also always capitalised. Sorry, but you fail.
