How to get a teaching degree including student teaching while working?

Dilemma, online degrees are suppose to be for the working adult. The requirement in getting an online degree in education requires 12 consecutive weeks of student teaching. How is a working adult who works somewhere else suppose to do this? I can’t take 3 months off work. If I leave my current job (vested in 2 more years ) I most likely will take a pay cut and not guaranteed I get a job at a school while doing the degree. Any solutions?
I am finishing a bachelors in Psychology

That is the choice you make when you decide to get into teaching. You have to do the student teaching and therefore must either get a temporary leave from work or quit. Or don’t pursue the student teaching. Some states let you to teach without having a degree in teaching, but must pass all the state exams as well as take teaching classes while you are actually teaching.

12 weeks sounds like a walk in the park compared to the 26 weeks that I have to do this fall. I am in a similar position with my job. I have been saving for the last 2 years for this, its not like it snuck up on me. I also have made my work very aware of this, and I am taking a 6 month leave of absence. Talk to your boss, and see if you can work something out as far as unpaid leave, or see if you can maybe work a reduced schedule or just on weekends. Its a big commitment, good luck
